So, give your beard a proper shampooing and conditioning. Our motto in terms of hygiene is that there is no such thing as too clean. So don’t worry about washing your beard too often. Three times per week would be a fair number of times, if you ask us.
A tool that no self-respecting beardy bloke should be without. A kind of Swiss army face comb, it comes equipped with everything you need for beard styling, whatever style you fancy. Its two combs – each with different sized teeth – will tackle any hair length. Meanwhile, the brush helps get rid of any stray cut-offs or unruly hairs – tidying up the kind of scruffiness that might otherwise be missed. The boomerang shape is more than just a gimmick too. It’s designed to line up against your beard line so you can shave or trim perfectly rounded lines.
The big difference between beard balm and beard oil is that balm is thicker and can be used as a styling agent. Some say balm is better during the early stages of beard growth when it’s more scruff than the real thing.
A bigger beard or more hair on your face will also make your beard dry since the oil making deposits in your skin won’t be sufficient for all the newly sprung hair. This is the reason a lot of men have problems with dry skin and dandruff – and it can all be stopped with beard oil. Special oils developed just for your beard will hydrate your skin and hair, making it healthier, more resistant and less likely to succumb to the above mentioned issues.
While the price may be a bit exorbitant, many users think it’s worth the expense for a lightweight model at only 1 pound that feels good in your hand and comes with a two-year warranty – not to mention its superb performance capabilities.
For many men, the best-looking beard is one in which the hair on the sides of your face is slightly shorter than the hair on your chin. That said, trim your cheeks down to your jawline, then go back to your cheeks for a final pass with a length setting that’s 2mm shorter. You’ll like how your beard looks.
Some men are blessed with fast-growing facial hair, while others may struggle with slow-growing or patchy whiskers. The rate that your facial hair grows depends mostly on genetics, but if you are anxious for your beard to come in, there are a few tricks you can try to maximize growth rate and fullness. To grow a beard faster, care for your face by cleaning, moisturizing, and exfoliating properly, take biotin or other vitamin supplements that encourage hair growth, and leave your beard alone as it starts growing in.
Only 6 Length Settings: To many men, 6 length settings may be more than enough, but just as many men are looking for more versatile options from their beard trimmer. If you want more than 6 length options from your beard trimmer, then the search continues.
Would you guys recommend beard balm for a thiner starter beard with a few patches? I am looking into a way to fill in a few of my stubble gaps but don’t want something caked onto my face. I am prone to skin redness and occasional acne so trying my best to find something that will increase thickness, fill in patches, but not cause irritation.
To help clear up these excessive skin flakes and dirt you’ll want to exfoliate. There are a few different ways to exfoliate – through physical means and through chemical means. A physical exfoliator will be something like an Alpha Fit, a scalp brush, or a boar’s bristle brush. A chemical exfoliator uses ingredients like glycolic acid or lactic acid to loosen the bonds of the dead skin. You’ll want to exfoliate before (or while you are in) your shower. The key with exfoliation is to be gentle with your skin. You’re not going to want to rub your face raw or red. Let the products work for you and treat your skin with kindness.
Organic coconut oil is one of the top ingredients. Coconut oil is a great natural moisturizer that’s ideal for both hair and skin because it has a pH that’s very compatible with both. So, not only does it moisturize, but it keeps your skin and hair at their prime acidity level, which keeps them healthy and prevents hair loss and patchiness. Beard Balm also contains 100% Kosher grapeseed oil; grapeseed oil is light, non-greasy, and reduces frizz, contributing to better beard control.

The beard is also a sign of a nomadic and ascetic lifestyle.

[…] Bessarion later embraced the Catholic faith and in 1455 lost the election to become Pope with eight votes against fifteen from the cardinals. One of the arguments that was used against the election of Bessarion as Pope was that he still had a beard, even though he had converted to Catholicism, and insisted on wearing his Greek habit, which raised doubts on the sincerity of his conversion.
Conditioning your beard for healthy hair growth is essential. When you ignore this crucial step, hair becomes damaged, brittle and it can even break, leaving you with a patchy, uneven beard. Honest Amish is an entirely natural leave-in conditioner, which means you can safely leave it on all day without worrying about harmful chemicals seeping into your skin.
You should definitely be seeing results by now. Keep in mind, what you wash your face and beard with matters, too, and you want to make sure that you’re not using anything with harsh chemicals. It’s also important to keep your face exfoliated, because clogged pores can cause ingrown hairs, and inhibit hair growth. You can check out our all natural soap, or our cleansing oil. Another tip is you can use a beard trimmer to keep all your facial hair trimmed to a shorter length closer to your face, which will help make those patches less apparent while they’re filling in.

Even for those of us with signs of dense facial hair, we still might not let our beards grow out in fear of uneven growth. To think otherwise is silly and will put you on the fast track to disappointment. This gents is why we have beards trimmers and electric clippers, to help even out unruly corners of our facial hair and achieve the desired looks that we want for our beards. The only way you’ll know how your beard grows is if you let it do its thing and then adapt. Your beard is unique for a reason, it’s time to make peace with it.

Hi Raj. We would not recommend grapeseed oil as it could go rancid in your beard. Avocado oil can produce side effects so we wouldn’t recommend that either. Either a beard oil or beard balm should do what you want, providing it contains a combination of jojoba and argan oil. Those are the two oils that best moisturize and strengthen facial hair. Try our beard balm + beard oil set:
Some oils are made exclusively out of one or two carrier oils or one essential oil, making them very simple, but effective and trustworthy. While some companies boast with huge labels of ingredients on the back of the bottle. The truth is that there is no simple rule of thumb to which one is better – it is up to you decide which one works best for you and which one you actually prefer.
To make it all easier to apply these products, we recommend using a beard brush. It is one of the oldest and most natural ways of making hair soft. They carry the sebum oil and with every stroke you distribute it across the hair. This makes the beard softer and silkier.
Choosing the right beard growing oil can seem overwhelming. We are big believers in reading labels at The Mod Cabin. Anyone can say they have the best beard oil but the proof is on the label. The first ingredient listed on the label is what is used most. The last ingredient listed is used least. Make sure your beard oil has either jojoba or argan listed as the first ingredient. As a general rule you do not want more than a few ingredients in your beard oil. This is because the most beneficial oils are generally the least processed so they do not need additives. We recommend avoiding beard oils that add Vitamin E. The right beard oil will already have ingridients like argan that contain naturally occuring Vitamin E.
