The Woodland Harmony contains Cedarwood, Sandalwood, together with a mix of 4 secret essential oils. This combination makes it, on the one hand, nourishing and softening and on the other hand, it gives it that woody, manly fragrance that will make your girlfriend crazy for you.
A wet beard is typically longer and if you try to trim it wet, you may end up cutting more off than you would like. Before trimming make sure the beard is dry so you’ll be accurate in terms of how much facial hair you need to cut off.

Most guys know all about the awesomeness of cocoa butter. If they’re already proud papas, but for those who don’t, cocoa butter is an excellent base for conditioners and lotions (hence Honest Amish’s choice to use it as an ingredient), because it softens skin (and hair) without making it greasy. It can also help lessen the look of scars and stretch marks, which is why dads know all about it because their wives and girlfriends will have been all about the cocoa butter while pregnant. Shea butter, another ingredient in Honest Amish, has similar effects as well.
There are also a few terms we gotta clarify before we dive into this beard growing business. A yeard is a beard that has grown untrimmed for an entire year. Similarly, a tweard is one that has grown for twice that amount of time. The terminal beard is the granddaddy of them all, signifying a man mane that has hit its critical mass and seemingly stopped growing because of split ends forming or hair simply shedding.
There may be other gadgets out there, but these are the only tools you need. (I, personally, don’t refer to beard care products like beard shampoo and beard oil as tools, because specific language is important when you’re writing an instructional guide.)
After you’ve trimmed your beard and mustache, then you should maintain the shape of your beard. Use the beard trimmer with the adjustable trimming guide removed (be careful) to keep the neck line of your beard well-defined. Alternatively, you could carefully shave the lower portion of your neck to maintain the neck line of your beard.
Unfortunately I’m not attending Hogwarts, but this works like magic. Definitely helps in keeping the the hair hydrated and feeling soft. Some people have noted that it cured their beard itch in one application. The consistency is a bit thinner than other balms, likely due to the ingredients allowing for a more buttery feel. Something to note is that this isn’t really a “wax” the hold-ability is pretty lackluster. If that’s what you are after, then we wouldn’t suggest this product.
If you think these features might be important to you, whether now or at some point in the future, then you may want to purchase a model that either comes with such attachments and features, or is compatible with them.
Beard balm is another essential tool to anyone who is serious about proper beard care, grooming, and maintenance, and we think it’s important enough that you should have a guide – as we provide here – to the best beard balms of 2018.
Hi Ginni. We recommend drinking plenty of water, taking a biotin supplement, washing they spots where your facial hair does not grow with birch tar soap and then using gunbarrel beard oil on those same spots. This will maximize your potential for beard growth in patchy areas.
Indeed, it’s manly but you also won’t feel like a lumberjack in a more civilized setting – the camera pans in on the bearded man in the corner who’s wearing a smoking jacket, enjoying a fine cigar and glass of brandy. “What’s that scent he’s wearing?” someone asks.
Not sure if you’re ready for beard oil yet? Never fear my classy friend. Many beard oils come in sampler sizes so you can purchase smaller amounts to test before you commit to one brand. Here is a list of the beard oil sample packs I know of.
Obviously, we’re going to be a bit biased, but we know exactly what quality ingredients go into our products. You can check out our shop at themodcabin.com/shop. Whatever company you decide to purchase from, just make sure that you have access to the ingredients list, so that you know what you’re putting on your skin and hair. You can read our ingredients under the Description tab. It’s not necessary to have a long list of ingredients to have a great, healthy, effective product, and synthetic ingredients often function just to make the product look or feel a certain way, but can actually make the product less effective.
Some experts suggest using a beard wash and conditioner but a good shampoo and conditioner should do the trick but if you still feel that your beard is a bit wiry try using a beard balm to add a little bit more moisture.
Conditioning your beard for healthy hair growth is essential. When you ignore this crucial step, hair becomes damaged, brittle and it can even break, leaving you with a patchy, uneven beard. Honest Amish is an entirely natural leave-in conditioner, which means you can safely leave it on all day without worrying about harmful chemicals seeping into your skin.
Super informative article. One of many i’m guessing. Haven’t had time to peruse any of the other articles on this site but no doubt that will be of the same high calibre. Any one who writes a great review about Honest Amish Beard Balm is a friend of mine – and of who i rankly highly in the beard grooming world. I was introduced to Honest Amish after coming across a similar review article over at Hot Shave Hustlers. It’s a product that just keeps on giving and giving year in – year out. No doubt in my top 3 beard balms along with the infamous Wild Willies Beard Butter and Professor Edward Fuzzworthy’s beard care balm gloss,(…what a mouthful!). Also highly impressed by other products coming out of the Honest Amish stable, namely the Premium Beard oil and the Beard and Body Soap (slick). Hands down a great article right here. Look forward to perusing the site and reading much more.. JM
Hi, I read through many sites but found a detailed and useful reviews only here. Thank you. I have a question. I have thin facial hair and my current trimmer is no good to maintain a 5 o clock stubble. Can you please recommend a good trimmer for me which can tackle these thin hairs.
A great post, I found this one too with some great ideas and lots of positive comments too. I’ve tried a few things to grow a decent beard but vitamins and exercise that produces testosterone seems to be the winner 🙂
The following is a complete guide to how to maintain a beard. We break it down for you while providing the fundamentals of combing, brushing, washing, styling your beard, and more. Time to get serious, men.
At this stage, you shouldn’t be using a shampoo as the length is still fairly short. I’d recommend using a natural bar of soap that doesn’t have irritant chemicals in them (like sodium laurth sulfate). There are a lot of soap options out there, and one I’ve personally used and enjoyed is Rocky Top Soap.
Great great tips! I would also recommend to be more active in order to increase testosterone levels, rest (8-9 hours daily), and eat better, which means, no junk food, limit alcohol, plus eliminate smoking.

The 7200’s integrated vacuum system promises to catch up to 90% of your stray hairs thanks to a high-velocity motor and fan system that provide powerful suction to lift and capture maximum hairs. But the vacuum system isn’t the only reason this trimmer is a go-to choice.

This oil softens and soothes hair, especially thick or long beards. It locks in vital moisture to avoid dryness, counteracting frizz (and preventing you from looking rough). This is particularly helpful for men who consistently stroke and play with their beards, which can lead to split-ends and build-up of dirt. For best results, apply after a hot shower.
Comb your beard: You should comb your beard all over, even in places you usually neglect, and ensure it’s 100% tangle-free. Also, comb the hair into a single direction to ensure you get a nice, even trim.
Mystic Man’s Organic Beard Oil calls on the ancient secrets of the Mediterranean with its blend of sedr extract and organic oils. From stubble to lumberjack-like beards, Mystic Man is formulated for all lengths of facial hair.
As much as we’d like to think stress is as easy to get rid of as wishing it away, but that’s just not the case. Our advice to remove stress in your life is to take a 10-minute break every once in awhile during the day, or when you feel your stress the most, to focus on your passions. Maybe take a walk and think about puppies, spend some time doodling, or maybe just take a short nap. Just try to get outside for a bit. Your body needs vitamin D to maintain your natural hormone balance.
You may think your beard-softening job is done after conditioning your beard, but not so fast—beard moisturizer will kick that softening up a notch, which is exactly what you need if you’re experiencing an itchy beard. Go for a beard moisturizer with added benefits, like Percy Nobleman’s Face and Stubble Moisturizer. Not only is it designed specifically to soften new beard growth, but it also reduces wrinkles and skin damaged. Better still, it’s pH-balanced to keep both your skin and your beard at their healthiest.

To buy the most influential product, you will have to carry on an in-depth market research. Where the market is cluttered with competitive products introduced by different brands, to buy the best professional beard trimmer requires your special attention. And below we mention the factors, which contribute a prominent role in letting you pick the most efficient product.
Essentially, the parts of a strand of hair are: the medulla, the cortex and the cuticle. For understanding hair as it pertains to your beard needs, you can forget the medulla, which is the inner core and lacks structure, and focus on the latter two. The cortex is the middle layer where hair gets its structure from, and the shape of the cortex—round or oval—determines how curly or straight your hair is. (Curlier hair has a more oval shape whereas straight has a more rounded shape.) Melanin lies here in the cortex as well and works to give your hair its color. The cuticle is the outer layer of your hair and it’s what repels excess water that your cortex layer has drawn in.
There are also two types of hair that grow on your face, vellus (the light, blond, more youthful hair) and terminal (the darker, coarser hair). As you age your vellus hairs will convert into terminal hairs and those are the hairs that become a beard in a traditional sense.
Also, what you wash your face and beard with matters, and you want to make sure that you’re not using anything with harsh chemicals. Keep your face exfoliated, because clogged pores can cause ingrown hairs, and inhibit hair growth. You can check out our all natural soap, or our cleansing oil.
Tea Tree Beard Oil is designed to both be lightweight and to keep your beard conditioned and shiny. It won’t weight down your beard or feel greasy, and what’s left behind instead is itss refreshing, breath-of-crisp-air fragrance. It’s a scent that you can wear any day, all day.
To help clear up these excessive skin flakes and dirt you’ll want to exfoliate. There are a few different ways to exfoliate – through physical means and through chemical means. A physical exfoliator will be something like an Alpha Fit, a scalp brush, or a boar’s bristle brush. A chemical exfoliator uses ingredients like glycolic acid or lactic acid to loosen the bonds of the dead skin. You’ll want to exfoliate before (or while you are in) your shower. The key with exfoliation is to be gentle with your skin. You’re not going to want to rub your face raw or red. Let the products work for you and treat your skin with kindness.

Remember that facial hair is more stiff and wiry than the hair on your head by default. If you want that irresistible soft beard that those bastards in Hollywood make girls drool over, then you have to use the right products.
Thanks for your question! With a patchy beard, it’s important to be patient. And obviously, our hair growth is affected by our health, so good nutrition and drinking lots of water is important. Beyond that, be sure to use natural products on your face, because synthetic chemicals can damage hair. I’d recommend our Core Beard Kit. It has natural, moisturizing soap, and beard oil and beard balm to provide nourishment for the hair follicles that are forming beneath your skin. Be sure and massage the beard oil into your beard and skin twice a day. If you live in a cold, dry climate you may only want to wash your face/beard every other day to avoid leaching all the moisture from your skin and hair.
Let’s face it, anyone can grow stubble, and it doesn’t take a lot of time to do so. But we’re not talking about stubble in this post – we’re interested in a full-grown beard that gives you the manly, well-groomed look that others admire.
It only stands to reason then that beeswax is ideal for savvy beardsmen because it provides the kind of hold that few products can. It also helps lock in moisture that’s given off by other ingredients in the balm.
Want to learn how to apply beard balm like a boss? Not sure what beard balm is? For starters, beard balm is a control/styling product for your beard that is made up of waxes, butters, and oils. It’s a cross between beard oil and mustache wax. It can go by a couple of other names including beard wax and beard butter.
Beard dandruff is caused by the micro-organism Malassezia globosa and it’s feeding on the natural oils produced by your skin. Those oils are called sebum. The Malassezia globosa break down the oils into an oleic acid and some people have a sensitivity to the acid. People have a sensitivity which produces skin cells at a higher rate and this overproduction of skin cells is what causes dandruff. So it sucks to have beard flakes, but it’s a pretty common issue for people.
Natural beard oils are typically created with both carrier oils and essential oils, absolutes, and/or extracts. Carrier oils are oils that make up the bulk of the volume of the product and are formulated to condition the skin and beard. The most popular types of carrier oils are coconut, grape seed, jojoba, saffron and argan. They are used as a natural fragrance for the beard oils, but also may have aromatherapy benefits. Since essential oils, absolutes, and extracts are usually very strong they may cause chemical burns or skin irritation, they are commonly paired up with carrier oils in order to dilute them.
