Grape seed oil is pressed from the seeds of grapes and is a by-product of the wine-making process. It has a higher concentration of linoleic acid than most carrier oils, and linoleic acid has anti-inflammatory, moisture-retentive, and acne-reductive properties.
Microbiologists determined in tests that beards “contained a lot of normal bacteria, but some were comparable to toilets” Skin underneath the beard can build oil and lead to acne, along with other skin conditions
Natural ingredients should always be considered because unless you’re allergic, they’re likely going to be kinder to your skin; sometimes synthetic ingredients can be drying to some while being fine for others, whereas natural elements often have a more or less predictable result.

Since the mid-twentieth century, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) has encouraged men to be clean-shaven, particularly those that serve in ecclesiastical leadership positions. The church’s encouragement of men’s shaving has no theological basis, but stems from the general waning of facial hair’s popularity in Western society during the twentieth century and its association with the hippie and drug culture aspects of the counterculture of the 1960s, and has not been a permanent rule.
If you think these features might be important to you, whether now or at some point in the future, then you may want to purchase a model that either comes with such attachments and features, or is compatible with them.
The most unique feature of the model is that it runs on a 12 amp pivot motor as compared to the other trimmers in the market that run on 8 amp motors. The extra powerful motor adds to the efficiency of shaving as an experience.

A good beard starts with good skin. It is the soil in which your peach fuzz grows in to become a mighty oak of a beard. Properly moisturized skin is essential for protecting the roots of your beard, as well as preventing flakiness and itching. Meanwhile, the beard hair itself must also be moisturized if you want to be able to style it and prevent it from damage. Once again, the naturally moisturizing butter and oils come together in Wild Willies Beard Butter to get to the source of your beard growth and protect it at the root.
The best beard balm is going to be one where a little of the ingredient goes a long way. Not only can too much oil clog your pores, having to slather it on overly much might be the sign of a poor-quality product, so that’s something to keep in mind.
Don’t be overly concerned about other people’s potential reactions to your new beard. If you have a good beard, most people will probably react favorably, possibly much more favorably than you would have ever anticipated. So relax and enjoy the experience.
There are a lot of groups on the internet that will provide support if you are having a bad beard day. My favorite places to hang out are: /r/beards, Beardboard.com, and BeardedGents.com. Upload photos of your beard growth progress and bask in the positive and constructive comments from other beardsmen.
Hi there! I am wondering which trimmer I should go for PHILIPS NORELCO BEARD SERIES 7200 or Philips BT5200/13 Beard & Stubble Trimmer Series 5000. I would mostly use it not for the beard but for sides around ears and back of the head. I would need the lower it can go for sides which is 0.4mm at all and Series 5000 does it but Series 7200 goes from 0.5mm. Will I notice any difference in this 0.1mm ?
It’s easy to clean as all you need to do is place it under running water. The trimmer unit includes water shutters and an open water drainer. You simply shake out the excess water and pat it dry with a towel. Your trimmer comes with a handy cleaning brush, as well.
So, if you’re looking to keep your beard trimmed for a certain look, your trimmer is the tool you need. If you’re looking for a clean and smooth look, reach for your shaver. You won’t get that look with your trimmer.
Still, beards remained rare among the Romans throughout the Late Republic and the early Principate. In a general way, in Rome at this time, a long beard was considered a mark of slovenliness and squalor. The censors L. Veturius and P. Licinius compelled M. Livius, who had been banished, on his restoration to the city, to be shaved, and to lay aside his dirty appearance, and then, but not until then, to come into the Senate. The first occasion of shaving was regarded as the beginning of manhood, and the day on which this took place was celebrated as a festival. Usually, this was done when the young Roman assumed the toga virilis. Augustus did it in his twenty-fourth year, Julius Caesar in his twentieth. The hair cut off on such occasions was consecrated to a god. Thus Nero put his into a golden box set with pearls, and dedicated it to Jupiter Capitolinus. The Romans, unlike the Greeks, let their beards grow in time of mourning; so did Augustus for the death of Julius Caesar. Other occasions of mourning on which the beard was allowed to grow were, appearance as a reus, condemnation, or some public calamity. On the other hand, men of the country areas around Rome in the time of Varro seem not to have shaved except when they came to market every eighth day, so that their usual appearance was most likely a short stubble.
The Dynaflex cutting system in the shaver gives the user an ease and comfort of shaving in the most difficult areas like neckline and the jaws. This ease also prevents the chances of cuts and burns while shaving.
A softer beard starts with a good foundation. Wash your beard with beard shampoo only, so that your beard’s natural pH is maintained and you aren’t exposed to any harsh abrasives that might roughen up your hair.
Beards can start growing anywhere from your teenage years to your late 20s and early 30s (and even later for some folks – seriously). Unfortunately, there is no way to control when your beard comes in, how thick it is, or its color or texture. All that is tied in with your DNA, much like your height and hair color. The key to physically growing a beard is patience. Every beard is completely unique and your own, sometimes you just need to wait a few years before it really finds its shape. In a world of instant gratification, we know this can suck. Remember that all of the bearded men you see online and on TV weren’t born with the beard they have now. They too may have been late bloomers, or battled patchy beards in their youth.
Overall, this is a trimmer that is a great asset to a man’s collection of grooming tools, but it does have some drawbacks that put it out of the running for men that need more length from their beards.
Try “beard lube” to combat itchiness or dryness. While they’re not super-commonly used among men with beards, there are a variety of beard oils on the market, which can be combed into clean beards to keep them looking shiny, moisturized, and clean. It can be a desirable look, and it may give relief to men with sensitive skin who suffer from itchiness.
You can use beard balms made to straighten beards or blow dry your beard straight, but our recommendation is to use either of those sparingly. Both can dry your beard out, causing it to be brittle and break easily. Instead, we recommend seeing a barber who knows how to properly trim curly beards so that you can work with the curl, instead of against it. I hope that information is helpful!
There’s no need for putting up with a frustratingly dry beard, and with Smooth Viking Beard Oil for Men, you won’t have to. It’s smooth and takes care of what a comb or brush can’t. Moreover, it promotes growth and is said to help you achieve better beard length at a faster rate than other products.
After you’ve showered and towel dried off your beard, take a few drops of Beard Oil in your palms, which should be about the size of a dime. Rub the oil into your fingertips and reach through your beard to the base skin. Massage throughout your chin area to get good coverage and then pull your fingers through your beard.
A key ingredient in this balm is argan oil, which is proven to be beneficial for hair growth and protecting your hair. Another ingredient of note is Kokum, which is a natural antibiotic that helps get rid of skin bacteria.
And, as you might expect, none of Honest Amish’s beard case products, including their balm, have man-made chemicals, preservatives, fragrances, or colorings. Instead, you get all-natural ingredients that will condition, soften, repair, and nourish new beard hair growth.
Beard Wash cleans the beard hair and the skin underneath without using the harsher chemicals that one might see in a commercial shampoo from a drugstore. We’ve formulated ours to work specifically with your body’s natural biology, so it’s gentle enough for regular use but strong enough to keep your beard fresh and thoroughly clean.
One of the toughest things about growing a beard—as well as one of the most common problems—is itchiness. Many guys end up just giving up and shaving it all off because they can’t take the itch anymore. Some guys wear their beards year-round, while others only grow them out in the winter. No matter which category you fall into, you’re eventually going to have to overcome the issue of dry winter air, which sucks the moisture right out of your skin, causing your beard to itch and skin to flake. Most guys know they need to moisturize the non-bearded part of their faces—especially in wintertime—but many overlook the crucial step of moisturizing your beard and the skin beneath it. Balms are the best when it comes to moisturizing the skin beneath the beard; their high viscosity allows them to slowly sink in and stay there, keeping the skin beneath your beard soft and itch-free all day.
Well, as we said – with the growing popularity of beards, the popularity of oil has risen up, too. They are everywhere now, and you can choose from such a variety of products today that it might be a bit overwhelming. Let us get one thing clear: if you choose the best oil, you are not just getting a cosmetic ointment, you are getting a product that is healthy and beneficial for your skin and beard.
Skin Irritation: The more facial hair you have, or the longer it is, the more vulnerable your face is to skin irritation. While the effects of this can be abated using other cosmetic tools such as beard oils, keeping your hair well-groomed and neatly trimmed is another way to fight this condition.
There is no side effect. This oil will take care of itching and dry skin, not cause them. It will only cause healthier beard hair and skin, faster and thicker growth overtime. It is safe for all hair and skin types.
Located in a small town in Pennsylvania, the folks at Honest Amish make everything by hand and use only natural ingredients with no additives or chemicals. Their vegan formula – meaning the main components are made from oils and nut butters – is considered a facial butter, and they definitely keep unruly growth in check.
For a beard to grow long and healthy, it needs proper nourishment. Think about it. Your skin that surrounds the roots of your hair is alive. If you keep it healthy, that is the first step to growing a robust and thick beard. The next step is strengthening individual hair shafts so that they’re protected from breakage and damage. The natural oils in Wild Willies Beard Butter work to do just that, so your beard can always be at its strongest. Note that we reviewed Wild Willie’s Beard Butter in another article. They offer great products, and we featured them twice for a reason.
With a longer beard, you’ll may find that using a blow dryer will help your beard look fuller and more tidy. To use a blow dryer, I will blow from the neck up which will essentially “poof” out the beard. If you want to use styling products, I’d recommend applying a beard balm while your beard is still damp, then blow drying.
Once your beard really starts to come in, you can shape it. For noobs, it’s important to keep it simple and pick proven styles that suit your face shape until you develop a better eye for beards. (And if you are completely devoid of all artistic talent or discernment, don’t be ashamed to go to a barber at this point—he or she will get you on the right track.)
There’s simply a ton of convenience wrapped into this unit without having to insert and replace a lot of attachments. The settings make it easy to create stubble and help the Series 3500 rank as a top beard trimmer for short beards.

First, you can take supplements to make up for any deficiencies in your diet. My regimen usually consists of a multi-vitamin, biotin, and fish oil. Biotin will help your hair and nails grow faster and in other countries it’s called vitamin H for hair. In addition to these basics, you can add zinc, vitamin B (specifically B6), and magnesium.
Better yet, you’ll only need to charge it for one hour to get back the full 80 minutes. You can also use the Philips Norelco 7200 while it’s charging and it includes a battery indicator to let you know when it’s charged, charging, or needs to be plugged in.
Only 4 Length Settings: The four length settings for your trimming needs, this model really can’t measure up to the accuracy, precision, and versatility of the other models we have reviewed. This is the lowest number of length settings of any of the trimmers we’ve reviewed, so if that’s a priority for you, then the search continues!
