Unlike them, the non-Semitic Sumerian men tended to shave off their facial hair (which is especially notable, for example, in the numerous statues of Gudea, a ruler of Lagash, as opposed to the depiction of the roughly contemporaneous Semitic ruler of Akkad, Naram-Sin, on his victory stele).

In actuality though, growing a beard requires much more than just the ability to grow hair on your chin and cheeks. It takes patience, care, responsibility, and perseverance.

Let me just put you at ease since you’re here, it’s completely normal to loose beard hairs. We lose hair from head to toe every day all year long. Beard hair is much thicker and coarser, so it will show up much easier on your pillowcase. You don’t need to shave your beard off. Wait, isn’t extra oil bad for me? Well, when you have a beard, it doesn’t quite work like that anymore, and here is why – there are glands under the roots of your hair that produce that oily substance that moisturizes your skin and protects it but once your beard becomes real long – the base oil the skin can produce becomes insufficient. This is what causes bad skin, dandruff, and itching. This is exactly why no beard should go without proper care.
Beard balm or beard oil? This may be the most frequent question we get asked at The Mod Cabin. Some people say they are one and the same. This simply is not true. Beard balm is a pomade made by mixing, heating and cooling moisturizers and sealants. In this post we will explain the differences between beard balm and beard oil and when to use each. We will start with beard balm.
Beard balm is a great all-in-one beard moisturizer, conditioner and styling aid that is especially helpful for people who want their beards to look thicker. Run your fingers through your facial hair, starting from the neck and working up, making sure to rub balm into the skin where your beard grows.

So I just started growing my goatee out again. I have been putting it off for a while now because I hate the initial itching that comes with it. I have ridiculously course whiskers so I need something to make it softer. I decided to give this stuff a try and I will admit that I am very happy with the results. I’m not going to sit here and say that my whiskers are as soft as a baby birds feathers but they are noticeably softer. It has cut the itching in half. If I had to come up with one complaint it would be that I wish the bottle was double the size for the price. I like to put on more than the recommended dose. All in all I am very pleased!
