Matt Barnes to Jazz: “I pity the fool!”

I Pity the Fool

“I Pity the Fool” was a hit song for Bobby “Blue” Bland back in 1961. It’s still pretty rippin’. In the 80s Mr. T used the phrase to great effect after his rise to fame from bouncer to A-Team heavy. He wore a mohawk. Currently, so does Matt Barnes. Like Bobby pities the fool who falls for his ex, I pity the fool who falls in love with the Jazz. I’m pretty sure Matt does too.

For whatever it’s worth, in spite of his brilliant voice, Bobby “Blue” Bland ran into my mom’s car in West Oakland back in the day and he was a pompous ass; this is quite unlike Matt “Underdog” Barnes. You go Matt Barnes.

Daniel Turman (with a little help from Mike Blake)

Matt Barnes, fool!
