The Beard is big in China: Baron Davis passes through Shanghai.
This video, shot last summer on a promotional tour of China for Li Ning shoes, pretty much synopsizes the ease with which Baron danced through the Warriors defense last Friday. Like they were a bunch of confused citizens of Shanghai out shopping for vegetables. You will also note a certain flattering similarity to our logo on the Li Ning gear. Even the bouncing lyrical follow ball is a wee little bearded head.
Glad to see that, even in translation, The Beard knows where to find the spotlight and how to get down with the locals. Of course, it also reminds me of a long-ago day when The Beard passed through San Francisco with FTB.
Turman
PS. Imagine: the Warriors scored 146 in a win over the Timberwolves. Yes. True. League high point total for the season? Really? Jack had 15 assists too? And they won by 41? What the hell is going on? One night anemia, the next night the ‘87 Lakers.
Craziest of all? Erstwhile Cap’n Jack was a big factor. Matt Steinmetz called him the “good Stephen Jackson” in the postgame wrap. So there you have it. With irony. He’s shopping his wares, while actually doing what the fans would like to see. Filling the passing lanes. Creating turnovers. Sharing the ball. And. Uhm. Good. Your lawyer was feeling a bit spokespersonish earlier today. But riddle me this Sorta Cap’n Jack: why is this your brand of leadership when the T-Wolves are the opposition? Show us this against the Suns. Or the Lakes. Even the Clips? Yeah. I said it.
Props to Kelenna for his 31. Ditto for Anthony Randolph for grinding out some hard work down low. Chocolate Rain? All day. Monta even looked point-guard-ish. Play like this more often. Please?

this comment is general but since this is your latest post, am putting it here. ran across this federal policy on beards and of course thought of you. plus, thought you could use a laugh.
Gerald, a former Marine officer, requires employees to wear uniforms and to comply with a strict grooming code. And, Gerald forbids his male employees from wearing beards. Is Gerald’s “no beard” policy legal under federal law?

The NY Yankees don’t allow facial hair either.
Hey, I got the quiz right! Religious or medical reasons. Now I know what to say on the stand. Awesome.
