Joel Kimmel: Portraits of the league.
A hearty FTB welcome to Joel Kimmel. He’s been working hard for a while now on a series of NBA-themed portraits. He currently resides in Brooklyn, but hails from Ottawa, up in Canadia. He’s blogging it up too. Take a wee little break and peep out his stuff. Personally, I dig his attempts to place his subjects in a frame of reference that honors both strength and weakness with a degree of grace and honor. Baron seems to have a certain noblesse oblige. Marbury as a Coney Island sideshow past its pull date is particularly noteworthy. I’ll now be adding the “buy it here link” since I didn’t bother to write him in advance of cribbing his artwork for this post. I’ll now turn it over to the critic’s circle of fire, aka, the comments thread for the final analysis. Just the same, I’m feeling you Joel. Keep doing what you do. I have an MFA in creative writing and I’m putting it down for beards and basketball. I understand. I’m feeling you. Kapisch?
