Hillary please stop.
Sometimes, Tuesday can’t come soon enough for the hateration. And frankly, though I’ve expressed respect for her campaign from the start, the time has come for Hillary to go quietly into the night. Unless, I am hopelessly and tragically uninformed as an ersatz pundit, tomorrow Barack Obama will reach a significant milestone: he will have received a majority of the pledged delegates at stake in all the primaries and caucuses.
Noting this, and trying to save the Democratic Party from a meltdown fueled by internal strife, the sage minds over at Hillary Please Stop dot com have launched a wee campaign of their own. The idea is pretty simple. Upload a picture or image that demonstrates your simple desire for her to bow out with grace. And for those who might lament the uncounted votes of Florida or Michigan, please remember that these states (and their delegates) were eliminated as punishment for moving the dates of their primaries forward without party approval. Moreover, both candidates approved this decision before even one vote was cast in any of the remaining 48 states. The misleading e-mails being sent out by the Clinton camp are, at best, disingenuously trying to subvert this truth. At worst, they are trying to gerrymander the process that they rubber stamped last year. Enough is enough. A (mostly) fair fight has been fought and now the time comes to focus on the next, and more significant, opponent.

Ugh. Another split. Please stop it Hillary!

Hater Tuesday caveat:
I’m about to use far too many “air quotes”. So don’t hate.
While watching CNN’s Democratic race coverage last night I heard something I’d like to hate on. Why is it that this country, and particularly it’s mainstream media, will NOT address the issue of racism in this election? The CNN “expert” commentators, save one, kept talking about how Obama has “issues” with blue collar/working class (white) voters. They like to throw around this ridiculous idea that these voters don’t think Obama “share their values”. What the f*ck does that mean? Their family values? Their religious values? Their values for a strong economy, good education, affordable healthcare or a diplomatic approach to global conflict? I don’t think so. Frankly, I think they mean that he doesn’t “share their skin color value”.
These commentators keep telling us that Obama’s base of new, young and well-educated “elitists” are problematic. Well, I say, if our nominee needs, the old, uneducated racists to win the general election, that is far more problematic for us all.
Let’s hope not.

Oh, and Hillary, please stop saying you’ve won the popular vote. I saw the math. You haven’t.

Re: Race,
I think that Jim Webb as Obama’s VP could really make the case to those “hard-working-class whites” that Obama is their guy. Granted you’re never going to be able to change everyone’s minds, but he could make a big difference. Webb’s definitely a maverick, and a potential loose cannon, but he could really bring those guys in. [FYI: There's a book, "Nightingale's Song" which details McCain, Webb, Oliver North, and John Poindexter from Naval Academy onwards, which is pretty interesting.]
One of the greatest tricks ever performed, was the rich white ruling class tricking poor working class whites into believing that “minorities” are somehow their enemies. Started with Southern White Landed Gentry and continues.
How can a poor white family in Appalachia be duped into thinking that gay marriage/abortion, and the War on Terror are the most important issues, when they don’t even have health care. Crazy
When Hillary gets me down, I watch this video it always seems to cheer me up. Ridiculous.

Ha! I posted that one a while back. There’s a reason the comments have been disabled! It’s so close to satire, but I’m pretty sure it’s real.

Sorry, but every time I see that video I can’t help but think of a “Fame” high school production.
