David Beckham has a beard now?
Okay, I’ll admit it. This post might be a little off topic on a night when the Sharks are going deep overtime in their game with the Dallas Stars. Not to mention the ongoing NBA Playoffs. As I write, the Sharks are sitting on a no-goal call at the 10:38 mark of the third overtime. There will be a review.
This will not be the case with the outcome of the Hawks/Celtics series. Game seven saw a sad torpor overcome the Hawks before they could even get going. By the time I was fully awake, they were sitting on 30-something points at the four-minute mark of the third quarter. Their chance to be this year’s Warriors? No, they got blown out. Ho hum. Then Kobe and the Lakeshow run the Jazz in game one. To be honest, that series makes me want to hurt myself.
So. David Beckham has a beard. This was brought to our attention by Delinda over at the almighty Athlebrities. She also has a sweet take on the Josh Howard Weedgate imbroglio, but as for Becks she had this to offer.
In the interest of helping you attract more female readers, I thought you might like this freshly bearded Beckham photo. I don’t know if you have it yet, but as always, when I see a beard I automatically Fear It.
Peace,
Delinda
While we watch the random search queries pile up, we’ll also conduct a wee poll. Personally, I’m not really McLovin that Mr. Becks is the chosen ambassador of the beautiful game in the United States. I’d rather have Thierry Henry in his prime. Or even a scandalous Ronaldo. But, we get what we get. A high-voiced, injury-prone Spice Boy. Which brings us to the question: should he really have a beard?
Back to the NBA tomorrow,
Turman
PS. Apologies for the lethargy on the posting frequency lately. Chalk it up to Warrior-less playoff malaise. We’ll be back to normal, like, now.
PPS. Fourth overtime in the Sharks game to force a game seven. Lord, I wish this was basketball.

Indeed. If only Mr. Stern had followed advice like this from Bob Fitzgerald, it could have been.

A Proposal For NBA Realignment
http://www.nba.com/warriors/fanzone/fitz_blog.html
“Start with all six division winners making the playoffs. And then the next 10 best regular season records, regardless of location. Seed the teams 1-16 based on regular season records, make out an NBA Championship bracket, play seven-game series and use the 2-3-2 format to mitigate travel concerns.”
